Can I earn ASHA CEUs for this content?
Important Notice: All courses purchased or completed after May 31, 2019, do NOT qualify for ASHA CEUs. For all those who completed or purchased the course after May 31, 2019, you will receive “Certification Maintenance Hours” (CMH) for the coursework, which will count towards ASHA certification maintenance. However, these CEUs will not show up in your ASHA registry.
What is a Certification Maintenance Hour (CMH)?
ASHA requires all SLPs who have their CCCs to obtain 30 hours of continuing education every three years. Certification Maintenance Hour (CMH) is the term used to describe any professional development contact hour that counts towards your certification. CMH is 60 minutes spent in a professional development activity as a learner or participant. 1 CMH = 1 Contact Hour (60 minutes). 0.1 CEU = 1 CMH.
Are CMHs and CEUs different?
ASHA approved CEUs are a type of CMH. ASHA requires all SLPs who have their CCCs to obtain 30 Certification Maintenance Hours (CMHs) every 3 years. Several types of professional development activities can be used to meet this requirement. All courses on the HIITS website can be used to demonstrate CMHs. All you need to do is obtain a certificate of completion and maintain a personal record (in case you are audited).

What if I completed or purchased my course after May 31, 2019?
If you completed any of our courses after May 31, 2019, please email us at [email protected] once you complete the learning assessment, for an updated course completion certificate. Does my course access expire?
No! Once purchased, you will have unlimited access to watch the recorded webinars online at your own pace, for life. All courses purchased on Hope is in the Science have now been moved over to STEP at www.stepcommunity.com. Please email us at [email protected] if you need assistance with this transition.
