Course Description

The goal of this module is to encourage clinical decisions that are grounded in objective data. This involves a discussion about the subjective or objective nature of clinical judgements made in dysphagia management as well as defining what objective outcomes are. This module includes an interactive activity where an in-depth discussion probes whether judgements about swallowing ability (i.e. hyoid movement, swallowing presence) in a clinical swallowing examination can be made objectively, subjectively, or not at all.
